About the West Hartford Dog Park

The West Hartford Dog Park Coalition (WHDPC) is a community group dedicated to the building and support of a dog park in West Hartford, CT. We are an all-volunteer group that work everyday on the park, our own pups, our guests and our supporters. We would love to have you join our pack!

The WHDPC was founded in 2008, with the goal to build and maintain a dog park in West Hartford if the town would provide a location. The town agreed to give us a location, renewable after one year, behind the soon-to-be updated West Hartford Community Center. When construction starts we might be moving, so stay connected with us so we can let you know all the details.

The West Hartford Dog Park is about 3/4 acres total, including a separate area for small or timid dogs. There are trees along one edge providing a shaded area.

There is double-gate entry: enter the first, remove your dog’s leash, then enter the park through the second.

There is no water in the park – please bring your own. While we have some poop bags available, you can help keep costs down by bringing your own. And always pick up your dog’s deposits!

To contact the WHDPC, please message from our Facebook group, or send us an email.

The West Hartford Dog Park is a Town of West Hartford park. The West Hartford Dog Park Coalition is an independent, all-volunteer organization that oversees the park and raises money for ongoing maintenance and improvements. However, since we are an independent, all volunteer group, we could always use your help. Contributions made through our 501(c)(3), The West Hartford Dog Park Support Group Inc. are tax-deductible. Learn more about how you can be a part of the park by clicking here or join our Facebook group, or send us an email – we would love to hear from you!
