Thanks to the West Hartford Dog Park Coalition for a fun pop-up meet & greet last Saturday, with little if any growling. Latke (our PWD) says let's do it again soon!
Pop up dog park was a hit!
Today's pop-up was a great success. The small dog session attracted 15 dogs and their people. We'll definitely do it again. The open session had a typical turnout - about 50 dogs peak, maybe 100 total. It didn't rain. A big thank you to West Hartford Leisure Services and Public Works, for fencing off the field and creating a nice double-gate entry. Thank you as well to the Southwood neighborhood for tolerating our presence. ... See more
Hi, I saw the same brindle pitbull 30 min ago on Oxford street in Hartford. Again, no collar. We tried approach him but he was so scared of people and ran away. We followed him but he kept running and disappeared. We called animal control and they are sending someone! If anyone else sees him in the West end, just try to keep him in sight and call animal control! He's very scared of people and i worry that he ran away for a reason. ... See more
I drove by a lost looking dark brindle pittie running along all by himself on Steele Rd at Bainbridge around 9 this morning. He had no collar and was very handsome. Hope he finds his family!
Hi everyone. I am wondering if anyone has a Santa suit (for a human) that my dog rescue could borrow for a few hours on Sunday December 3rd. We are doing a charity event in West Hartford at 11 am and I can return it the same day probably by 5 pm. Thanks... and be sure to stop by Bishops Corner Pet Valu on 12/3 from 1230-330 for holiday pet pics to benefit Furry Friends Foster and Rescue Inc ... See more
Next pop up dog park will be Saturday November 18. See group Events for details In the days leading up to WHDPC events, I'd appreciate it if people could refrain from posting about lost dogs, play dates and other things that are valuable at other times. In order to promote the event, it would be good if visitors to the group would see event info at the top of the feed. Thank you for your understanding, and supporting a dog park for West Hartford. ... See more
